Say goodbye to writer's block!

Even the author of this program admits that some people will find it completely ridiculous, while others will discover a new source of literary inspiration. If you're a writer, why not give it a try?

All writers suffer from writers block from time to time, and Write Attack! is a tool designed specifically to overcome it. The method is simple - put 'em under pressure! Write Attack! consists of a very basic word processing program with absolutely no frills. You set a word target and a time limit and start writing. If you don't meet the target within the time limit, Write Attack! erases all your work. If that isn't motivation, I don't know what is!

Write Attack!'s settings are fairly simple. There is a minimum word target of 100 words and a maximum of 10,000 and a minimum time limit of 5 minutes and a maximum of 180. You can cut and paste your text or save a copy of your work, if you manage to finish it before the time runs out. There are also a set of little Write Attack! mascots that bounce around to provide extra motivation as you write. For all the budding novelists out there, there's even a 'Nanowrimo' button which sets an automatic target of 1,650 words a day - a perfect amount to get that novel finished in a month!

Write Attack! - writer's block need never be a problem again!

PROS

  • Simple to use
  • Surprisingly effective!

CONS

  • Little mascots are old-fashioned and hard to see
  • More flexible limits and targets would be good
